Local First Springfield is hosting its 8th annual Community Consumer Shred Event on April 22, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Habitat for Humanity Restore on South 6th Street and is in need of volunteers to help with the event.

Event Details
Cash donations are encouraged with proceeds from the event benefiting Habitat For Humanity and Local First Springfield. The Salvation Army will also be accepting non-perishable food items.
AFFORDABLE SHRED will shred up to 5 boxes per family. (Larger amounts call 217-741-1577)
HD SMITH will properly dispose of your unwanted prescription drugs in original prescription bottles. NO CONTROLLED DRUGS ALLOWED.
LAKE AREA DISPOSAL will recycle your cardboard.
SPRINGFIELD NOON LION’S CLUB will be collecting eyeglasses and hearing aids.
BLH COMPUTERS & HABITAT for HUMANITY will recycle most items that plug in including: Appliances, Computers, Printers, Telephones, Cameras, etc. **NO TELEVISIONS OR MICROWAVES ALLOWED**
HABITAT for HUMANITY will accept gently or never used furniture, beds (no mattresses), light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, doors, and carpets.
