Who We Are

Kidzeum of Health and Science is a children’s museum with a twist.  Our focus is exclusively on health, wellness, science, fitness, nutrition, the environment and the services and professionals that keep kids safe but in a way that kids learn best…through play.  All of our galleries and exhibits are created with fun in mind.  Interact with the one-of-a-kind Active Alex, which is a 40 foot tall, 3-story kid that teaches you about the body’s systems (including an interactive intestine!) and how to keep them healthy.  Stroll through the Healthy Community Gallery and become a plumber, environmental specialist, nutritionist, dentist, fitness guru, news anchor, veterinarian and an EMT.  Our Healthy Earth Gallery is a water table exhibit and a Farm to Market exhibit to explain about our natural resources and how to protect them.  Parents can feel good about an experience at Kidzeum because kids not only have a blast, they learn about critical health issues that impact them and their world.  Appropriate for ages 0-100.

What We Do

The goal of the Kidzeum project is to provide a children's museum promoting healthy nutrition, enriching the community of Springfield, as well as educating the importance of reducing detrimental impacts we have on the environment. The three galleries (Healthy Body, Health Community and Healthy Earth) found at the Kidzeum will promote:

  1. Competent and supportive community health systems
  1. Wise and conscientious use of the land, waters, soils and other resources
  1. Conservation of energy, sustainability, personal responsibilities, and the reminder to think locally
  1. Awareness of self, healthy practices, safety and prevention.
  1. Exposure to careers in medicine, research, engineering, emergency services and agriculture.
