Friends of the Sangamon Valley

The Friends of the Sangamon Valley is a nonprofit organization dedicated to acquiring, preserving, and protecting natural areas in the Sangamon River Watershed. For over 25 years, we have worked to protect and restore valuable natural areas in the area.

We own eight properties totaling 358 acres in Mason, Menard, Christian, Cass and Sangamon Counties and manage an additional 13.8 acres at two sites through conservation easements. Volunteers help with stewardship workdays, special events, nature interpretation and more!
