Downtown Springfield Inc. is the downtown business association (501c6) and nationally accredited Main Street organization dedicated to creating and supporting a vibrant neighborhood through collaboration, creativity, and leadership. Because a better Downtown means a stronger Springfield and Sangamon County.

DSI leverages a dedicated volunteer corps to drive the revitalization of downtown, focusing on various key areas. We support our small shops by fostering a network where merchants can exchange best practices and address retail barriers, alongside hosting events like Sidewalk Sales and Holiday Walks. Efforts also include speeding up the rehabilitation of vacant spaces and attracting new investments, with DSI acting as a liaison among stakeholders. Our initiatives extend to enhancing downtown's appeal through placemaking, managing projects like ARTificiation murals, and promoting the Old Capitol Farmers Market. Moreover, we strive to make downtown more navigable and inviting for visitors and focus on marketing our district's vibrant happenings to both locals and tourists through various channels. Planning for a walkable, arts and culture-focused downtown is also a priority, aiming to foster a lively, residential neighborhood.
