Food & Supplies Drive at United Way!
United Way and the Junior League of Springfield are excited to invite you to bring your donations to the United Way office to help our local micropantries! These low-barrier access points for food are in need of great community support, so make a run to the grocery store or set out a box for donations in your office, and let's show this community that we care!
If you're unable to participate with a food donation, please consider a making a gift to support our emergency food efforts. Click here to donate to the food drive.
If you're looking for guidance on what to donate, small serving/individual-sized items are great to help more individuals who access these pantries, and because not everyone has access to a can-opener, pull tab cans are best, but certainly not mandatory.
Some of the micropantries' most needed items are:
- Peanut butter, jelly, bread
- Canned tuna or meats
- Canned soups and stews
- Boxed pasta and pasta sauces
- Mac and Cheese (especially with liquid cheese)
- Cereal
- Rice
- Individual-sized chips and crackers
- Apples, oranges
- Granola or cereal bars
- Trail Mix
- Canned fruits and veggies
- Ramen noodles, pasta
- Nuts
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Baked beans, canned chili
- Fruit cups
- Prepackaged oatmeal
- Small servings of raw potatoes
