Who We Are

The Mission has served Springfield’s homeless and impoverished for more than 110 years. Every day more than 100 individuals come through our doors seeking shelter and searching for connection. We show them, love by providing coffee, laundry, clothing, and hot showers. Through local churches, we provide opportunities for the community to engage in gospel-centric programs to address barriers impacting those visiting the Mission.

Our vision is to meet these immediate physical needs each day and address the deeper mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs that each person faces.

We believe that by showing the love of God, we can build a platform to project the gospel. We long for our community members to see the healing God can provide for their addictions and past trauma so that they have the opportunity to move forward in their life, career, and relationships.

What We Do

The newest addition to our programming is The Pathways Job Program. The program has several components.

There is a Life Skills class that helps community members reorient themselves to qualities employers are looking for in a job applicant.

There is a Volunteer to Work Program, a community member can volunteer thirty consecutive hours at the Mission. If they follow directions well and do the job requested, we will give them a gift card and a job reference on their resume or application.

We also have a mentoring program. This program allows people in the community to connect with our members and guide them toward their next step.
