Who We Are

The mission of the Rees Carillon Society is to educate and bring the beauty of the cast bells to the people of the Greater Springfield Community.  The Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon, our musical treasure in Washington Park, was built in 1962.  With its 67 bells, it is the 5th largest carillon in the world!  Concert and tour information is available on the website, www.carillon-rees.org   The Rees Carillon Society has no paid staff so that all funds raised (after event expenses) directly benefit the Rees Memorial Carillon.

What We Do

In partnership with the Springfield Park District and the Washington Park Botanical Garden. the Rees Carillon Society presents tours, concerts, events, and special events featuring the music of the cast bells.  The free annual International Carillon Festival features carillonneurs from around the world.  Art Spectacular is a fundraiser in September featuring up to 50 juried artists in a wide variety of quality fine art fine craft artwork.  Carve for the Carillon in October is a free family-friendly event where the community carves the 2000+ pumpkins to be illuminated and displayed the following weekend around the Carillon and the Botanical Garden.  Caroling at the Carillon in December is a free family event of singing Christmas Carols accompanied by the Carillon.  The Carillon Belles conduct free 3rd-grade tours in the Spring and Fall.
