Lincoln Land Community College Adult Education & Literacy

Who We Are

Adult Volunteer Literacy (AVL) is a program within the Adult Education department at Lincoln Land Community College. AVL is a grant funded program designed to improve skills in the areas of reading, math, and the English language for learners, students, and community members enrolled in our program.

What We Do

The Adult Volunteer Literacy program at Lincoln Land Community College offers free tutoring services to anyone over the age of 17 wanting to improve their literacy skills in reading, math, or the English language. We provide training to our volunteer tutors before they begin. Once matched with a learner they will meet for their sessions in a public place or virtually. The requirement is at least 1 hour per week, and tutors must have a high school diploma.
